Community Engagement

Our Community Engagement team works block by block to empower residents to become active citizens, fully involved in improving the quality of life in their community. We help residents form and strengthen block and resident associations, and have created two alliances of block and resident associations: Bed-Stuy Works and Canarsie Strong. These alliances allow block and resident associations to share information and collaborate on community-wide events and programs, providing a single, strong voice with which to speak to elected officials, private developers, and city agencies about issues of concern. We provide technical assistance and support the planning, promotion, and management of community events and local programs.
