The “A Stitch in Time” club at the Quincy Senior Residence needs help so they can continue to give even more of their time
and talents.

Due to recent cutbacks, the Board of Health will not be able to provide gifts to newborns and their mothers at city hospitals.

The “A Stitch in Time” club has been tapped to take on this task. The club regards this work as a labor of love, and will create baby hats, blankets and bunting items. “But just as it is difficult for the City of New York,” says Phyllis Hurd, BSDC community relations director for the Residence, “it’s just as difficult for us. “While we have willing, excited seniors who are able to step up and take over the project, we are in need of a great deal of supplies -- from knitting and crochet needles to synthetic yarn.”

“The seniors’ generosity, through the “A Stitch in Time” project is a wonderful and important gesture in these difficult times in
our city and community. It allows the residents of our city and community to understand the important roles that our seniors
continue to play and encourage support of Senior Programs.”
