Intern/Real Estate Department

Bridge Street Development Corporation (BSDC) is a faith based community development organization that brings housing development, economic advancement strategies, community organizing and educational endeavors to the residents of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Central Brooklyn. BSDC was established in late 1995 by the African Wesleyan Methodist Episcopal Church. The vision of BSDC is to preserve Bedford-Stuyvesant as a desirable neighborhood for raising families, owning businesses and taking part in the rich cultural, spiritual, and recreational opportunities.

Since 1995, BSDC has developed over 400 units of affordable and market rate rental and homeowner housing to revitalize and preserve Bedford-Stuyvesant for families with a diversity of incomes. BSDC has been innovative and on the cutting edge of real estate development in the community and take pride in accomplishments that include the first condo development and Senior Citizen Assisted Living Facility in Bedford Stuyvesant. BSDC has also developed and implemented an overall commercial revitalization program on Tompkins and Lewis Avenues, and Malcolm X Boulevard commercial corridors.

Intern Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing real estate project manager skills and/or attending a Real Estate Program at a local college. Intern will assist the Real Estate Department in identifying sites, developing project budgets, securing project funding, manage projects in construction, manage vendor invoices and general administrative duties. This is an unpaid Internship.
